Robin E. Scully

Robin E. Scully

Robin grew up in Warrensburg, Missouri.  As a child, his favorite book was To Kill a Mockingbird.  His love of words and language drew him to the practice of law.  His desire to help people then drew him to personal injury work.

Robin practiced law in Kansas City for about ten years, working for a general practice firm.  In 1996 he moved to the Denver area and began working for The Hustead Law Firm, where he exclusively defended large insurance companies.  By 2001, Robin decided to take a different path – one where he would represent individuals, not faceless corporations.  At that point he joined the Mintz Law Firm.

Robin has experience resolving lawsuits through settlement, mediation, arbitration, and trial.  He has prosecuted jury trials in the courts of Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado, in both state and federal courts.  Robin has also handled a number of appeals.  He recently argued a client’s case all the way up to the Colorado Supreme Court, on an issue involving the proper interpretation and application of law that applies to personal injury actions.

Robin prides himself on being able to quickly determine the proper course for a case, whether it be quick and reasonable settlement, or extended litigation and trial.  His guiding principle, always, is the client’s best interests.  If those interests dictate that Robin battle the defendant through the trial courts and into the appeals courts, that is the course he will recommend and prosecute.

In his six years working in personal injury, Robin has recovered nearly ten million dollars for his clients.  He recently recovered $600,000 for a client who suffered injuries from defective hip implants, $430,000.00 for a client injured by negligent construction workers, $350,000 for a client who was hit by a negligent bus driver, $260,000 for the family of a boy who was burned in a hotel accident, $129,000 for a client who was injured while cycling, $125,000 for a client who was injured as a result of a business’s failure to clear snow from its parking lot, $120,000 for a client who was the victim of a dog bite, and $118,000 for a client who was injured in a car accident.  This is a small sample of Robin’s results – results that speak for themselves.

Robin lives near the office, in Lakewood. Robin spends most of his time with his wife Jennifer and his two young boys, Kellen and Dylan. He enjoys mountain biking and rooting for the Missouri Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs. When he can find time, he also loves to play guitar and drums.
